Can a company place a negative entry against my credit reports without my social security number or DOB?

PENTAGONDEFENSE asked:

I did sign a contract with a company, but they never captured my social security number or date of birth? Granted, they can take legal action w/o this info, but can it appear on my credit reports as usually, they need name, social, dob, address and phone.

How do I eliminate open accounts that appear twice on credit reports?

alison a asked:

I just pulled credit for a client, and one of his revolving accounts with bank of america showed up twice on his credit report. It’s definitely the same account, I have asked the client about it. It shows up once with a four digit account number, and the second time, directly below with the same balance and payment, and a twelve digit account number. How much could something like this bring down his score, and how do I get rid of it?

Can I dispute my bankruptcy information on my credit reports?

Cole asked:

I filed bankruptcy, chapter 7, in 2004, but I’ve just noticed that all the major credit reporting agencies are reporting inaccurate information. My case number is inaccurate on all three as well as what type of court my bankruptcy was filed in, and one even has the date wrong. I’ve also read that the credit reporting agencies will never be able to verify this information to fix it because courts will not verify over the phone, and therefore will have to remove it from my credit. Is this true?

How do collection agencies edit credit reports?

macfreak86 asked:

I keep getting calls from the famous Allied Interstate collection agency saying if I don’t pay a certain bill to them (not the client), that they will threaten to put that on my credit report. How can they do that when I don’t have a credit report or any credit? Also, how do they edit credit reports? I wonder how many people, besides me, cut them off by saying I’m going to deal with the client on this.

Where is the best place online to get free credit reports without paying or getting sucked into a scam?

ApacheJack asked:

I am entering the market to buy a house and I want to make sure my credit report is accurate before I need to apply for a loan. I know there are companys like freecreditreport.com but you have to sign up for them and then you have to cancel before you get billed. I want to avoid all that and just review my credit reports.

How to get a copy of credit reports?

surfacecc asked:

I’m trying to get copies of my credit reports by all 3 agencies. I’ve been told that the address is incorrect and that I don’t qualify for a free credit report. Anyone know what to do? Or have the number to speak to a LIVE representative?

Can anyone recommend a legitimate service that will help you correct the information on your credit reports?

pandora asked:

I’m not referring to credit repair. All three of my credit reports have a lot of incorrect information on them, and I’m really not sure how to go about getting them corrected. I have heard that it’s difficult to do, so I was hoping that someone could recommend a service that I could use to help get my information corrected.

What can be shared between family credit reports?

rnizlek asked:

I have two credit cards, of which I am the only holder and the individual responsible for making payments. I also have two credit cards which are held by each of my parents, on which I am considered an authorized user. On those accounts, my parents each have one card in their name, and I have a second card, but it is an individual (not a joint) account in my parent’s name (my name is only on the cards). On my credit report, my cards show, as well as each of my parents cards, where I’m listed as an authorized user. My question is, will my personal cards, of which I am the only user and there are no other cardholders, show on my parent’s credit report? Or are they exclusively on my credit report? Thanks!
